It’s the best WotC offering to date and IMO one of the best official D&D modules of any edition. However, that’s not a very high bar for the most. The Reavers of Harkenwold adventure is, in a word, excellent. There is plenty of information in Reavers of Harkenwold for a party that loves . I also later wrote about that particular adventure on the D&D message boards. Raging Owlbear: Reavers of Harkenwold – Best of D&D 4e
This format had its pros and cons, but despite its eventual abandonment, the format appears to have wrestled the creative juices out of the designers at the time or perhaps in spite of it. If they save, they are reaveers longer stunned or d&&d damage, but they are still swallowed. I believe the Essentials products are arranged so that you can start with the adventure from the Red Box Starter Set, which takes the party from level 1 to level 2, and then move them into Reavers of Harkenwold.
Have it, tried running it, but couldn’t get passed the second or so encounter before out of game issues de-railed reavesr game. A rebel resistance has sprung up and it’s up to the PCs to help liberate the Duchy.
Why did u decide to scrap it? The order that they ran into the encounters was: Since my players still like minatures, that gave me an adventure path with maps and monster counters.
The PCs decided to pretend that one of the PCs was the sister of a Harkenwolder who had joined the Iron Circle and died in the Battle of Albridge, and she had been sent to collect his personal effects from his barracks. It helps if your characters have written backgrounds, but most noobs aren’t really that into character creation.

There is plenty of information in Reavers of Harkenwold for a party that loves role-playing to really get into the world and its people and their problems. Log in or sign up in seconds. The plot is straightforward, in a good way: It is wide open, and really depends on how they RP at the beginning.
Lots of flexibility in the beginning, and kind of a creative mix of stuff to do. What makes RoH so good is how it was written as a mini-sandbox.

Review: Reavers of Harkenwold
Not only is it non-linear, but there is room to drop in side-quests or whatever other ideas on might have to fill it out for your group. There are some free ones around like Tobold’sbut a dry erase board should work just as well. Do not attempt to call anyone out. Check out our Getting Started Guide! If you want, I’ll email what I had. The adventure was written for levels 2 to 4… but in my own game, Harkendold stretched this content out for months on end.
You can have the person who hired them to clean out Kobold Hall hire them to deliver something to Harkenwold or the armorer ask them hareknwold pick up something from that area.
